Village of Villa Park
My name is Deborah Bullwinkel and I'm running for trustee for the Village of Villa Park in the April 7, 2009 consolidated election.
A 12-year resident of Villa Park, I've steadily gotten more involved in our growing community. Currently, I serve on the Environmental Concerns Commission, I'm active in the Neighborhood Watch program and I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Residents often ask me why I decided to run for trustee. We're facing a significant turning point in Villa Park, and one way to rev up the energy level, move away from the past and work towards a brighter future is to get involved.
Several priorities that I share with other residents of Villa Park include, but are not limited to, the pursuit of:
- Fiscally & environmentally responsible development opportunities
- Increased support for existing & new business owners
- Accelerated maintenance of streets, sewers, sidewalks & other infrastructure
- More aggressive crime-free community initiatives
- Additional green space, such as new parks for residents and our pets
- New, innovative funding & cost-saving opportunities for village projects
- Improved communication between residents & the village government
It's a new day in Villa Park! As we move forward to Election Day on Tuesday, April 7, I will be out and about meeting and greeting the residents by knocking on doors and attending community events. I'm eager to cross paths with you!
